It's an exciting thought...
That every moment of our lives is serendipitously linked to the life of a literary character. That the current time and precise weather conditions you’re experiencing are also playing out across the pages of a novel.
Our products summon those words in exactly those moments, connecting you to literature in wonderfully unexpected ways—in even the most ordinary, unlikely moments.
Novel? You could say that. Fiction? Far from it.
The Story Behind Author & Co.
Author & Co. began as a collaboration between readers and creators exploring how literature might exist beyond the page. From that question came something entirely new: the first objects designed to make storytelling part of daily life, a new category of products that we call Literary Devices. Items that merge language, design and technology in useful, joyful ways.
Our work begins by observing the information people seek each day: the time, the weather, the small details that shape routine. We transform those moments of utility into opportunities for storytelling, weaving literature into our daily lives.
We create tools for people who live with books, objects that make reading an active, everyday experience. Each of our products extends the ways stories can appear in our routines, as we imagine even more expressions of how literature meets the everyday.
Author & Co. has defined the first generation of Literary Devices, creating new ways for stories to live in the world and marking a new chapter for literature.
